Nehru Science Centre quiz
Nehru Science Centre Quiz contest is considered to be a prestigious contest with most of the elite schools from Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Palghar participating in it. Our school teams have always cleared the written and oral rounds. It is a record that at least two of our schools have stormed into the finals for the last four consecutive years and have been champions on three occasions and the runners up once.
Aviation Quiz
For the last two years, National English School, Virar (west) have won the prestigious JRD Tata Memorial Aviation Trophy. Mst. Harsh Shinde and Mst. Shreyas Pasalkar won the ‘Boeing trophy’, Ms. Manasvi Patil and Ms. Swara Patil bagged the Aviation quiz (Indian Women’s Pilot Association trophy)
AISM Quiz
The ICSE students clashed in the National Level AISM Quiz at Telangana with different teams from the other Indian states, after being the toppers of Maharashtra state.
Mars Rover Project
Our painstaking efforts in inculcating scientific temper in students is yielding results. A number of students have indulged themselves in research work. Our workshops backed by our US partner indeed sent the ball rolling to help students think outside the box. They created different working projects. Mst. Harsh Chaudhari and Mst. Deep Mahajan were invited to present their Mars rover project at ‘Makers Mela 2020’ at Somaiya college. Our Science projects have always been selected at the taluka and district levels and sent to the state science exhibition.
Our budding artists
Our art staff has been able to mentor the students using different techniques and the students have responded very well, getting accolades in the Takula level Vasai Vikasini competitions, the State level Sakal competitions and bagging the State, National and International honors at the Camlin Kokuyo competitions. Ms. Simran Mohanty & Ms. Prranjali Patil bagged the AISM State level Poster making competition and Ms. Mohanty was felicitated in New Delhi at the National level art competition by the Bureau of energy efficiency, India.
Sports is the key to fitness
Our team of physical instructors have been regularly training the students in Athletics, Yoga, Mallakhamb, Handball, Volleyball, Throwball, Swimming, Kho Kho, Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess Badminton, Aerobics, & Cricket and have been successful in the District, Zonal, State and National event.
In the last decade many badminton players have emerged and won prestigious tournaments. Our U-14 & U-16 Cricket team is a force to reckon with and has dominated the cricket field in our region under the able guidance of our coach Mr. Santosh Pingulkar. A number of students have been selected in the Mumbai Cricket Association Team. Our Student Mst. Pragnesh Kanpillewar has also captained the Mumbai U-19 and West Zone Team and was a part of the Indian students team that toured Bangladesh.
Instilling confidence and competitiveness in students
Our dedicated teachers have been instrumental in providing coaching to students who participate eagerly in various competitive examinations like Middle school and High school scholarship, Sir C.V Raman exams, Dr. Homi Bhabha Balvaidnyanik exams, MTS, NTS, Tilak Vidyapeeth & BMNMSS examinations and the outcomes have been outstanding with some of the students topping the result charts at various levels.
Similarly, the students have always won medals in various competitions like Oratory, Story Narration, Handwriting, Debate, Quiz, Essay Writing, Drawing, Handicraft, Vocal Singing, Dancing & Dramatics at the Taluka, District, State, National, International Level.
